Clustering Pilot Playbook

Go through the clustering pilot program set up especially for a interested customers and partners.

The clustering pilot program lets any interested advanced customers or partners test an exciting new capability of the Nuix Platform, specifically the ability of the Nuix REST service to scale via clustering. Nuix has provided a REST API for the Nuix Core Engine for years. This REST API required Apache Tomcat to be run as an application or a service and supported the automation, integration, and extension of Nuix. The Nuix REST server has historically run as a single application server instance inherently limited in scale.

With the latest release of the Nuix REST API you can now cluster your Nuix REST instances, assign specific nodes a user-defined function (such as “Ingestion” or “OCR” or “Search”), optimize the resources of each node for their assigned function, and then interact with a single node of the cluster, allowing the service to optimize completion of tasks itself, while delegating the appropriate function to the appropriate node.

This model is intended to allow for better separation of concerns, eliminating the need for client-side or custom code to orchestrate calls between Nuix REST instances, and allowing you to scale the service as needed to meet more aggressive SLAs.

The topics in this section will guide you through the pilot program.
